जवाहरलाल नेहरू विश्वविद्यालय (JNU) में 5 जनवरी 2020 को छात्रों के साथ हुई हिंसा को लेकर विवाद खत्म होने का नाम नहीं ले रहा है। हमले में जेएनयू के कई छात्र और शिक्षक घायल हुए। जेएनयू छात्र संघ ने एबीवीपी पर हमले का आरोप लगाया। हालांकि एबीवीपी ने आरोप से इनकार किया है।
माथे पर बड़ी बिंदी, लंबे बाल, साड़ी और बड़ी-बड़ी दाढ़ी वाले शख्स को पिछले दिनों आपने ट्विटर पर जरूर देखा होगा। ट्विटर पर इस शख्स की तस्वीर शेयर कर लोग दावा कर रहे हैं कि ये जवाहरलाल नेहरू विश्वविद्यालय (JNU) में हुई हिंसा के खिलाफ विरोध प्रदर्शन करते दिल्ली में देखा गया है। शख्स को सोशल मीडिया पर इसके पहनावे को लेकर काफी ट्रोल भी किया गया। इसका नाम कौशल बोदवाल है, जो कि होमोसेक्सुअल है। कौशल बोदवाल जेएनयू का स्कॉलर छात्र है। कौशल बोदवाल ने अपने ट्रोलर्स को जवाब दिया है। उन्होंने कहा है कि जब हम जैसे लोग किसी विरोध प्रदर्शन में शामिल होते हैं तो समाज को डर और खतरा महसूस होता है।
कौशल बोदवाल को लेकर शेफाली वैद्य ने अपने ट्विटर पर कई पोस्ट किए थे और उनकी आलोचना की थी। जिसके बाद से ही काफी यूजर्स ने कौशल को ट्रोल करना शुरू किया था। हालांकि कुछ लोगों ने कौशल बोदवाल का ट्विटर पर समर्थन भी किया है।

वेबसाइट द न्यूज मिनट से बात करते हुए कौशल बोदवाल ने कहा, पहली बात जो लोग ये तस्वीर शेयर कर के ये दावा कर रहे हैं कि मैं जेएनयू में पांच जनवरी को हुई हिंसा के विरोध में शामिल हुआ था तो मैं बता दूं कि ये तस्वीर दिसंबर की है। मैं दिसंबर 2019 में जेएनयू द्वारा फीस बढ़ोतरी को लेकर किए गए विरोध प्रदर्शन में शामिल हुआ था। शेफाली वैद्य के ट्वीट करने से पहले ही लोग मुझे ट्रोल करने लगे थे। ट्रोलिंग कुछ समय से हो रही है।
कौशल बोदवाल ने कहा, ये ट्रोलिंग और गाली देना समाज के डर को दिखाता है, जो मेरे समलैंगिक होने से है। उन्होंने कहा, समाज हम जैसे लोगों को एक अलग ही तरीके से देखती है और जब वे समाज के मानदंडों को तोड़ते हुए विरोध प्रदर्शन में भाग लेते हैं,समाज को खतरा महसूस होता है।
कुशाल ने कहा कि समाज इंसानी शरीर को एक निश्चित तरीके से समझता है, जैसे जिस व्यक्ति की दाढ़ी होती है, तो वे सोचते हैं कि यह एक पुरुष है और जब वह किसी को बिंदी लगाए देखते हैं तो उनको लगता है कि ये एक महिला है। लेकिन जब वे लोग होमोसेक्सुअल और ट्रांस लोगों को देखते हैं, तो उन्हें डर लगने लगता है।
