नागरिकता संशोधन कानून (CAA) और राष्ट्रीय नागरिक पंजी (NRC) को लेकर पिछले कुछ दिनों से पूरे देश में जमकर विरोध प्रदर्शन किए जा रहे हैं। सैकड़ों लोग हिरासत में लिए गए हैं और तकरीबन आधे दर्जनों लोगों की मौत हो चुकी है।

नागरिकता संशोधन कानून और एनआरसी के खिलाफ विरोध करने वाले कांग्रेस के वरिष्ठ नेता शशि थरूरट्विटर अपने एक ट्वीट को लेकर जमकर ट्रोल हो रहे हैं। हालांकि शशि थरूर ने अपना ट्वीट डिलीट कर दिया था। लेकिन तब-तक उसका स्क्रीनशॉट वायरल हो गया है। शशि थरूर ने भारत का विवादित नक्शा ट्वीट किया था। थरूर ने केरल के कोझिकोड में होने वाले प्रदर्शन को लेकर ट्वीट किया जिसमें उन्होंने पाक अधिकृत कश्मीर (पीओके) और अक्साई चिन को भारत का हिस्सा नहीं दिखाया था। अपने इस ट्वीट के बाद शशि थरूर ट्रोल होना शुरू हो गए हैं। बढ़ते विवाद के बाद शशि थरूर ने अपने विवादित ट्वीट को डिलीट कर दिया।
शशि थरूर ने एक अन्य ट्वीट कर कहा, मैं अपनी पहले की पोस्ट को बदल रहा हूं जो न केवल नक्शे को बल्कि देश के लोगों को गलत दिखा रहा था। मैं बीजेपी ट्रोल को और ज्यादा मसाला नहीं देना चाहता हूं।

इस अधूरे नक्शे को लेकर बीजेपी के प्रवक्ता संबिता पात्रा ने ट्वीट कर थरूर से माफी मांगने की मांग की है। उन्होंने लिखा, 'ऐसा क्यों है शशि थरूर कि आपकी पार्टी और उसके वर्कर जिस भारत के नक्शे का विज्ञापन कर रहे हैं, उसे अधूरा क्यों रखा है...क्या यह कांग्रेस का भारत को तोड़ने, बांटने और बर्बाद करने का आइडिया है? क्या थरूर को भारत की प्रतिष्ठा कम करने के लिए माफी नहीं मांगनी चाहिए?'
