नई दिल्लीः भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा (आईएएस) के पूर्व अधिकारी कन्नन गोपीनाथन सोमवार को कांग्रेस में शामिल हो गए। पार्टी मुख्यालय में कांग्रेस के संगठन महासचिव केसी वेणुगोपाल पार्टी, मीडिया विभाग के प्रमुख पवन खेड़ा और कुछ अन्य नेताओं की मौजूदगी में उन्होंने कांग्रेस की सदस्यता ग्रहण की।

खेड़ा पार्टी में उनका स्वागत करते हुए करते हुए कहा, "कन्नन गोपीनाथन जी 2012 बैच के आईएएस अधिकारी रहे। जिस समय देश में बोलना लगभग नामुमकिन था, तब उन्होंने आवाज उठाई। गोपीनाथन जी ने जम्मू-कश्मीर को राज्य से केंद्र शासित प्रदेश बनाए जाने पर बुलंद होकर आवाज उठाई और सीएए के मुद्दे पर भी मुखर रहे।" उन्होंने कहा, "गोपीनाथन जी ने वीवीपीएटी के मुद्दे पर भी खुलकर बोला।
